The following resources have been developed to help you understand the key aspects of creating a viable idea that will get attention from your audience. Depending on the category of idea you choose this could be a customer, client or subscriber.
Category of idea you can choose
Your course may pre-determine your idea. For example, if you are a Criminology student your idea will be categorised as a social enterprise. If you are a Business student you are likely to choose a standard Business model.
Choose one:
- A standard profit-making business
- A social enterprise (same as a standard business but a portion of your profits will go to a specific social or environmental cause. You cannot use donations or public funding as a source of revenue).
- A project that attempts to build an audience (for example, a blog or a podcast. You will still need to consider elements of Business, such as marketing and finance).
- An event that generates revenue (you will still need to consider elements of Business, such as marketing and finance).
